Parents & Carers – Everything you need to know
We know handing over a Thursday evening takes a bit of trust. Here’s what we want you to know about EYN.
EYN is a free, weekly drop-in youth club run by local volunteers who are passionate about supporting young people in this community. We’ve worked hard to make sure every session is safe, welcoming and well-run – and we’re always happy to answer questions.
Is it safe?
Yes. Every EYN volunteer is DBS checked and trained in safeguarding. Many of our team also hold first aid qualifications. The safety and wellbeing of every young person who walks through our doors is our top priority.
Who runs EYN?
EYN is run by a team of local volunteers from the Eynsham community. We’re in the process of registering as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO), and we’re committed to running EYN transparently and sustainably.
Does my child need to register in advance?
No – EYN is a drop-in club. Your child can simply turn up on a Thursday evening at the right time for their year group. No forms, no bookings.
What actually happens at sessions?
EYN sessions are intentionally relaxed and unstructured. We provide a safe, supervised space where young people can hang out, socialise, and be themselves – without a packed programme of activities they have to take part in.
We believe young people benefit from having somewhere to go that isn’t structured or pressured. Sessions may evolve over time, and we’re always open to hearing what young people want from EYN
